Question of the Day 7/27/09:
“Are you happy with your dominant thoughts?” – Traci Toguchi
In You Can Have an Amazing Life in Just 60 Days, Dr. John Demartini’s Law 58 is the Law of Dominant Thought. He includes the saying, “What you think about, you bring about.”
A “dominant thought” is one which recurs the most, resulting in what occurs the most in your life.
As we move to the last week of July and into August (geez Louise the year is flying by), I pause to take a moment to reflect and see what’s being “targeted” this week.
In the video, I state that I need to start tweaking my dominant thoughts. So, my answer would be that I’m not happy with them (wow, just making myself say either yes or no made me shift gears – a good thing). I’m not exactly sure what my dominant thoughts have been (need a bit more reflection; hey that could be the issue!), but know that I need to be more conscious of, direct them to several important goals specifically this week, which also affects the months ahead, and ultimately, beyond.
What about you?
Are you happy with your dominant thoughts?
If so, why? If not, why not?
Cheers to a week that you’re pleased with!
(For me, I’m toasting to a fulfilling and focused week. *clink*)

I love Chris Pirillo’s comment – It’s like riding a motorcycle: “Where you look is where you’ll go.” I do believe that your dominant thoughts will determine where you will go. I am somewhat happy with my dominant thoughts, but would like to be more positive. It helps to have positive people around you (I love mornings on Twitter, so many positive influences, including @tracitoguchi) to get you in a positive mindset. Thank you for a great question as usual!
Mahalo Chris and Junie for taking the time to respond!
Will respond when I can breathe and enjoy what you’re sharing tonight.

TT,
Good question. I am as happy with dominant thoughts as happy can be. Life is like a box of chocolates you have to have courage to open the box. Thx Forrest for that line, lol…
But questions always appear in time.
To take an idea from a thought to reality presentation you have to see yourself in your minds eye doing it successfully. The psychology of the mindset is most important. Seems through out life we are being bombarded by negative thoughts and ideas be they peers or media, etc.
It’s most important to focus on your positive destiny to improve self, go forward. Now having said that the Dominance and Submission of others is an entirely different matter.
Run Forrest Run…
Tune of day… (Seems there is a pop tune to fit Traci’s Q…)

All the time you see us we’ll be on our way
Taking what is mine ‘cos now i’ll have my day
Dominator soul he take what’s in his way
Dominator soul he take what’s in his way
Move in on them
All the time you see us we’ll be on our way
Passive ways to pull you down they pull you down
Tear them up and smash them in we’ll have our day
Dominator soul he sing “i’ll have my way”
Move in on them
Move in on them
Dominator soul he’ll take what’s in his way
And if they fall leave them behind ‘cos that’s his way
And then we’ll dance a dance – a dance they’ve never seen
Dominator soul he’ll take what’s in his way
Move in on them
Cheers
I focus (Maybe a little too much) on the thought that life is too short.
As you know – I don’t believe in the supernatural, or an afterlife of any kind, so… My thoughts tend to be focused on living in the moment and getting as much enjoyment out of it as I possibly can.
The thought that my time here on Earth is pretty limited drives most of my decision making in one way or another. Living in the moment is why I moved to Hawaii. It’s why I try to spend as much time as I can with my family, why I don’t watch much TV, why I try to get out of the house on the weekends, take pictures, socialize with friends, play with my boy, etc, etc, etc.
The other thing that drives my decisions is making enough time to enjoy my family.
I was working about 12 to 14 a day on a regular basis for a while at my old job. Then one of the executives told me that he was the same way until he realized that if he were to drop-dead tomorrow, that they would have someone new sitting in his desk doing his job within a week but his wife and kids wouldn’t be so lucky.
I’m always trying to prioritize my time. Not so much by what will make me money but by what will be the most fun and what will make me and my family and friends the happiest.
@markturok @tracitoguchi I could use some tweaking too…as I push ever onward
Great question, Traci! I’m happier than I’ve ever been, but habitually braced for downturns. Now I practice letting go/being.
On a lighter note:
You know…I don’t think I really have a dominant thought per se. My mind races constantly. That’s a bad thing…huh? One minute it’s “oh dang…I forgot to edit that part of the RFP” and the next minute it’s “oh, I should really post the vids of golf”.
I think I have bursts of focus and clarity, and not one real dominant thought. hahahahaha.
Aloha All,
The video capture and upload saga continues… literally like Groundhog Day. LOL
Heading out, but want and will respond to your thoughtful comments.
Hawaiian hugs ~
